We might well find out that the diabetes epidemic (worldwide too) might be a consequence of Iodine deficiency.

It was a good post but I have never heard something like this.  I have head that type II diabetes is caused from a deficiency of chromium and vanadium.  Chromium helps regulate the blood sugar.  I have also heard that type II diabetes is a result of a diet of high glycemic foods.  The body has to produce a lot of insulin at one time when you eat high glycemic foods.
