I never had a problem with the pill or the patch. I did have a problem with the depo (similar side effects). I believe I need to be on birth control with both progesterone and estrogen The patch and all the pills I was ever on were dual hormones. Since Mirena is estrogen free (as well as the depo), I believe thats why I reacted to them so badly.

Some women cant take estrogen because they react badly. I think this device would be a great possibilty for them.
