I saw my gyno on Wednesday and I asked her about the IUD (my GP had suggested it while I'm over 35 and have had trouble quitting smoking altogether. I have been on the pill since I was 21.). She explained the Mirena to me and gave me a pamphlet and made an appointment, and said it would work well for me even though I have never been pregnant, and that I might experience some spotting. Then their office contacted my insurance and I'll have to pay everything upfront and will be reimbursed for part of it. So I started researching online because it sounds too good to be true, especially after reading this forum.
My big question is this:
In reading alot of these posts, it looks like many of you who have had problems with the Mirena have had a lot of trouble with the pill in the past as well. It makes me wonder if since I did well on the pill, I'll suffer less side effects from the IUD.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
