I did it with lemons once and it was beyond disgusting and I hardly got any stones out. Try the grapefruit version.

And since he's only 5, try something less torturing like using herbs to help disolve them or something. Maybe someone else has more info..

What made them check for stones in a 5yrold anyway.. All kids probably have Gallstones with the crap they eat these days.
