The so-called "reforms" of Vatican Two did not "revivify" the Church. Author Kenneth C. Jones wrote a volume called "Index of Leading Catholic Indicators: The Church Since Vatican II". He gathered statistics that have proven that the supposed "reforms" were anything but.

To your perception that "turning back the clock" will "reduce the appeal of the Church", that is not so. The traditionalist orders and congregations, especially the Society of St. Pius X and the Fraternal Society of St. Peter, are experiencing steady growth worldwide.
Such good news doesn't get reported in the so-called "mainstream media" however. It is not attractive enough an issue for them to cover, or to cover correctly.
