I heard about all the "extra's" they put in cosmetics. I was recommnded to buy this book, called "The Chemical Maze" by Bill Statham. To get the book and go home, go to the bathroom get my shampoo's, toothpaste, conditioner, shaving foam, aftershave gel...all of them...and look up all the ingredients in this book for each of my products.

I was astounded and shocked. 75pct of the ingredients of my shampoo where some type of irritant. all of my tubes had at least 50pct irritant! all of them. Not one single product was "clean." I was gobsmacked! how could they do this? why? how is it possible to put so much rubbish in these products that i use every single day of my life?

It was (crudely but effectively) explained to me that it was a little like homeopathy. In homeopathy very small amounts of certain things can make you better, hooray! In toothpaste very small amounts of certain things can make you ill. Yell

so for me, its not so much looking at the ingredients (although i do) of each product, its about not buying 99pct of these products in normal shops. find a brand that you know is ok and use that brand. I chucked out all my old stuff and i now use "neal's yard" which is made in england and "miessence" which is from Oz. They cost about the same as what i replaced, they are just slight harder to find.

The book costs peanuts, so can easily try it too!
