Where are you located??? I'm in Ohio and I found a bio-dentist who uses medical grade ozone to treat dental infections too! However, he does not get as involved as your dentist.

I have an infection at the root tip of a root canaled tooth, there was no swelling, pain, or sensitivity to the area, until I started taking iodine. Iodine triggered pain in my teeth, neck and head. Still no signs of the dental infection around the root canal, but it ached. I have not figured out why this occured and my ND and bio-dentist are both trying to figure this out too. The best explanation that we have come up with is that the Iodine was causing a die-off effect from the Lyme Co-infections Babesia &/or Bartonella. If I figure this out I will post the findings for others to consider.

So the pain this past weekend was bad and I went to my ND who told me to get Antibiotics right away, so I went to the Emergency Room. I started calling around to find a bio-dentist who specializes in root canal treatments and got lucky and found someone close by that does endodonic ozone therapy. I had the treatment yesterday.

What was done:

Endodontic Ozone Therapy

A method for treating root canals includes directing an oxidizing gas onto an open root canal through a needle, maintain a presence of the oxidizing gas onto the root canal for a period of time sufficient to kill microorganisms therein, and preventing escape of the oxidizing gas from the root canal. Apparatus for a treatment of root canals includes a source of oxidizing gas, a handpiece, a needle extending from said handpiece and receivable in a tooth root canal. The needle includes an oxidizing gas delivery lumen therethrough, and a cup is attached to the handpiece and surrounding the needle.

I will have this treatment about 2 more times because my infection was big. The cost for my 1st visit was $191, I also had him take xrays of my wisdom site extracions to see if there were issues. Fortunately, things looked good. My next visit should only be around $100.

Because I have an ozone machine at home my bio-dentist recommended that I do ozone enemas to get it into my blood stream. I will try to do that this weekend.

I am feeling really good today and feel that the ozone treatment was successful. I asked the dentist how he will determine the infection has cleared and he said through xrays. I will post my recovery.

Good luck to you Babirye
