I think you will find that zinc is the best wound healer in the mineral world. It's critical to growth of new protein around a wound. That includes injury, ulcer, burn or surgical incision. Zinc rebuilds the collagen. In the same process of wound healing, zinc is required for the release of vitamin A, which is important for healing. I'm talking about internal zinc.

I've always heard that honey is a very good ointment for open and newly closed wounds. Apparently, the enzymes are the key. I've heard that it will help to eliminate scaring.
