If you edit a post (with no mention that you have edited it) in such as way as to make those who responded to the unedited post look foolish, this is simple dishonesty, period. Ask any long time member, its protocol to mark edited posts as such.

As for private messages or whatnot, that is what email if for. This is a public forum.

I hope you refrain from this type of behavior in the future.
