Might just be me then.

It's been a while. I think I took 3 tablets. I don't know which form it was, possibly potassium gluconate. It caused copious urination and diarrhea.

Maybe they forced the max value down because some types of health conditions can cause some portion of the population to react in this way. I have a feeling that if your sodium/potassium balance has been out of whack (low potassium) and you suddenly get potassium, you might get an offload of sodium. Just guessing.
