While chickenpox AKA herpes zoster AKA varicella is a member of the herpes family, it's like a second cousin and not the same thing. One good thing, though, is that the antiviral meds for herpes simplex work for recurrances, commonly called shingles.

If you've had these symptoms for 4 weeks, I'd suggest that you get a doctor to take a look at it. There are a lot of other things that it could be. In any event, get some relief.
