Hi Dutchie,

Thanks for sharing! MANY people (including me) have passed stones as large as 1.8 cm. In fact I had 2 or 3 on my last flush that were an inch (2.54 cm) across.

It doesn't hurt most people when you do the flush. Ever so incredibly rarely, there is intense pain, and someone reported having to go to the hospital for immediate surgery. But this is very rare, and if you just take some time and read the posts on this site, you will see many many people who have done the flush, were scared like you are (I was at first!), and had wonderful results. And, people do the flushes many times.

If you had a lot of pain lingering after a flush, you simply do another right away. Taking Epsom Salts , which relax the bile ducts and allow stuck stones to pass more easily, can help, as can a hot water bottle over the liver area for some time before the flush.

If you are concerned about passing the large stone even after reading all the posts here, know that there are other routes to take to dissolve the stone as well. Such as chinese herbs (see http://www.sensiblehealth.com), apple juice, and ortho-phosphoric acid. There are several "recipes" or versions of the flush listed on this site; check them out and decide for yourself which you want to use. For example, they say that lemon juice works best for the flushes. But I have discovered that I just can't stomach (pun intended!) the olive oil/lemon juice combo. But, the olive oil/grapefruit juice combo is absolutely fine for me. You just have to go with what works for you, and you're not going to know until you try. We're behind you here, rooting you on!!!

You can even see photos of the stones people have passed. Just explore this site for many many alternatives.

And I applaud you for wanting to keep your gallbladder. I believe you can.

Good luck, and here's to your first successful flush!!!

Love Mikey
