Here is an extremely interesting study I heard about from Dr Wayne Dyer.

It was a study conducted to measure serotonin levels in the brain.

Serotonin is the neurotransmitter in the brain responsible for the chemical feeling for feeling good.

Anti-depressants (like Prozac) or anti-anxiety pills are designed to artificially stimulate the production of serotonin in the brain. Basically, the more serotonin, the more we feel good.

Through metabolites in the urine, the study determined how much serotonin was being produced.

This was what the research discovered:

When someone is a recipient of an act of kindness, it stimulates the production of serotonin AND it also strengthens their immune system.

They also discovered that the provider of an act of kindness, just by saying or doing something kind for another person, also had their serotonin levels increased and immune system boosted.

Even more interesting .. Observers of acts of kindness also received the increases in serotonin levels and a boost to their immune system, either by being in the energy field of someone extending an act of kindness .. or even watching it from the television or computer.

What is the significance of this?

In order to feel good, we need to focus on what makes us feel good. When we join in debates, have judgmental thoughts on others or focus on the negative, we end up feeling bad and put our health at risk. We only hurt ourselves.

What we focus on expands.

**Focus on acts of kindness – whether as the giver, receiver or observer**

Any unkind thought of judgment towards another human being does not define the person we are judging. We can call a person any name we like, but whatever it is we call that person, even if it’s just in our minds, does not make that person that.

None of us gets to define anything on the basis of our unkind judgments directed at others.

It doesn’t define them, but defines us as someone who needs to judge.

And when kindness is replaced by judgment, we take on those struggles, difficulties and problems that we don’t want.

Making the shift ..

To help refocus our thoughts, to be in perfect rapport with our originating source where we ALL emanated from:

“I intend to live my life in Peace, in such a way that the thoughts that emerge from me are in complete harmony with kindness. I choose to be an instrument of Peace in my thoughts and actions. I am the peace I seek, and from that peace, I extend kindness in all my thoughts and actions.” (Or make up something that fits you better)
