I feel for you!  I was on Effexor too.  I quit taking it because it made me so oblivious to bad feelings - While I was on it, I just didn't care what else was bothering me.  My pain didn't really go away with effexor - it just made me not care that I was in pain.  If I forgot to take it for a day or two, I would have severe migraines.  I forgot to take it several times.  I just got so tired or those mini withdrawals that I just decided to quit it all at once. 

I have to tell you - this is the best deceision I have ever made.  It is also the most difficult drug to come off of.  You will be so glad when you're off of it.
