CRAP!
I was sorta hoping that this vaulted enlightenment would be followed by a flash of lightning, a clap of thunder, and maybe the building would shake some.
Nothin’, in fact as I was sacking the trash, and walking it out to the curb this morning, I had the strange feeling that I was just another Bozo on the bus.
That clear sense of proportion, that “Right Sizing” the Quakers so fondly speak about, for me was a direct product of my seeking this power greater than myself.
There are names for this thing, this power, every different culture has at least one, some have lots of names for it, but for me, giving it a name, limits it in my mind. When I do try to label it, I think about it being more a path than a thing or being. But like just about everything else, I could have this dead wrong.
Back in my dope sodden days, those being most of the 60’s and 70’s, my favorite guru was Carlos Castanedas. And he nom-de-pen once wrote…
"Any path is only a path and there is no affront, to oneself or to others, in dropping it if that is what your heart tells you. Look at every path closely and deliberately. Try it as many times as you think necessary. Then ask yourself, and yourself alone, one question...Does this path have a heart? If it does, the path is good; if it doesn't it is of no use

Thanks my friend Dro, for your kind words,
Still on the road to the good stuff.
