I think all of us who shave our faces have felt at least the first few times that it was a dreadfully "male" thing to do. I can't say I feel in the least that way now.

It's true that you remove all the hair on that area of the face. Actually, even fine hair can be very obvious against the light.

Yes you could take hormones but they wouldn't deal with hair that's already groiwng in a mature, terminal form and you can't really keep taking female hormones indefinitely – too much of a cancer risk.
