Together, Iodine and potassium Iodide make up a salt, and this means that they have an ionic bond; it would take at least 681 degrees Celsius to separate them, or alter lugol’s chemistry. May Temperatures in Texas are not nearly enough to chemically alter lugol's. The temperatures here in Dallas have only reached 80 degrees thus far.
