was recently in a car accident, and one of the many procedures doctors had to do was make an incision on the left side of chest almost under my pit in order to insert a tube and drain the liquids out which were giving me breathing difficulties. Soon after, i was able to sit up straight without feeling dizzy or nauseous. However, its been a few months and my breathing isnt the same as it used to be...I cant really take as deep breaths as i used to, which is saddening since i was somewhat into my breathing excercises. I feel a slight pressure in my upper back and sometimes in my kidney areas whenever i try to inhale hard and fast. I was told my lungs collapsed while i was in the O.R. getting surgery for my perforated bowel, and so i was on breathing tubes for some days.. Could it be that the strength of my lungs has greatly diminished and only time and excercise can strengthen my lungs to the way they used to be? I had lost so much weight, and muscle mass that i practically had to learn to walk again. (my legs were skinny as twigs) Which was pretty wierd since i was a pretty beefy guy, and i worked out hitting a punching bag and training since i was very into boxing. I tried to run up this steep hill in my neighborhood yesterday as a strengthening regime for my legs and although my endurance is ok (not getting tired too fast) I had to stop because it feels as if though something in my lungs is clogged and i start to make this heavy weezing sound and i can hardly breathe! its the wierdest sound. Right after i have to focus enough in order to relax and soon the breathing goes back to nromal. This weezing sound also happens after i cough a little, then i cant breathe and i have to focus again! You know that little soft area right below the throat and above the collar bone or whatever, i can feel the weezing sound coming from there... I dont know, im just hoping the lungs heal well and that with proper excercise my lungs will be come strong again.... Im assuming this happened because my lungs got accustomed to being forced to breathe by a machine, and now i have to strenghen them up myself by excercising... Any suggestions
