Judging by Vulcanel's letter to the FDA I don't think natural detox is very life threatening. Remember to much of anything is life threatening. I heard about a report recently where someone died from drinking to much water. Here is part of our Vulcan friend's letter:

The American Association of Poison Control Centers has posted their annual report for 2005, the last year reported on their website

http://www.aapcc.org

It shows again that dietary supplements are very safe. The total number of deaths loosely associated with dietary supplements was only 27. These numbers are always low, of this order.

You guys have got me taking more Iodine now. I take Nature's Way Kelp. It has 400mcg of Iodine per serving and it says only to take one a day.

It would seem to me it would be more beneficial to take other cleanses with Iodine as well. Why not take cleanses with herbs, fiber, and minerals? I just recently learned that fiber isn't a laxative. It is bulky and it absorbs toxins as it passes through the digestive system. Of course once your cleanse is done your body doesn't need herbs but it does need certain elements and minerals.

There are other cleanses one the shelves of GNC, The Vitamin Shoppe, and Whole Foods Markets. My favorite supplement store is the Vitamin Shoppe.
