Marnie,
Sorry I did not see your post earlier!
Oil pulling has been so helpful with my allergies and sinuses. I began last fall and didn't have to take any OTC meds after that. Usually I get really stuffy in the fall and have that chronic yuck feeling in my head. Then winter comes and perhaps the pollen is gone, but the dry heat can take me out. OP solved both seasons for me!
This year the only time I have experienced intense allergy misery was when I was out of town and not oil pulling/iodining (I have felt pretty great this spring -- nut sure if that is OP or iodine, which I began in February or so -- but I certainly advocate both...
I first had allergies when I lived in the allergy-prone Austin, TX. When I was there I ate no dairy or wheat, which I am sure helped, and also I found a lot of relief eating spicy foods, which were abundant in Austin! I can still feel my stuffiness abate when I eat chilis or wasabi, and I try to eat some cayenne on a regular basis, too -- a runny nose is a real blessing when it comes to allergies!
Hope you feel better soon. Allergies suck...
Laura
