Here is a new idea for a candle I am testing but I need some of your input.
While in Europe I bought a couple Crystal Mineral candle holders. You can burn votive candles in them and they will release minerals into the air. So I got an idea today. (you can search on ebay to see what they look like. I don't have any for sale. Too expensive for my pocketbook at this time).
We were at Micheals Art Store today and found a Cozy-Up Warmer that looks like a coffee cup warmer for $4.99. Then we found a candle hearth cover for it on sale for $2 bucks. You can set a candle on the warmer instead of lighting it, you know one of those in the glass jars with lids. My idea was that I know that they make lamps out of the broken crystal mineral to release the minerals into the air instead of as a votive candle holder. So I thought what if I put Seasalt with Iodine into a votive beaker or a votive candle holder and placed it on the warmer. This should release minerals and Iodine into the air maybe? Then I went online and researched it and sure enough I found the exact same thing only using coarse Seasalt in a votive beaker with a votive candle setting ontop of it.
The only thing was that the candle is lit to warm the Seasalt instead of on the warming pad. I think the warming pad is safer then a lit candle would be with no smoke staining walls and messing with my breathing.
I dropped 3 drops of Yankee Citrus Oil in mine and the smell filled the air in just a few minutes. I'm wondering what the you folks think about this idea. Do you think this could release Iodine into the air? What about Epsom Salt (no iodine in it) as epsom has magnesium. I left the salt on the burner for an hour in the beaker and it did not crystalize (melt). Thanks. Just looking for solutions to the possible ban of Iodine sales.
