You seem to be responding to my post and yet you make allusions to things I never wrote or implied. I suggest you read my post again so you can actually respond to what I wrote, not to what you think I wrote.
A funeral is not supposed to relieve you of your grief and sadness. It is why we all cultures have them. Funerals allow for a communal sense of loss, for the community to pay respect to the memory of the dead and their family,, it marks the impact of that live on the individuals and the community and it reaffirms the finality of death. Funerals tend to initiate the grieving process rather than end it. This is why you can't imagine not having them, even though you claim they did nothing for you.
I suggest you visit a pediatric cancer ward, you will find that the kids deal far better with death and dying than the adults - this includes both the children who are dying and their siblings. Children tend to be almost pragmatic about death, they grieve and experience loss and sadness like anyone else but they quickly get on with their lives. It is adults who constantly visualize a loved one, pining and longing. True cruelty is shielding children from the truth and from the opportunity to express their sorrow, and not providing a socially acceptable manner in which to bid farewell to the dead.
I don't know what harm or "machinery" you are alluding to, theologically it does not exist. More Christians think you are wrong than the other way around, Catholics out number all other Christian denominations. Thye would say you are wrong in the way you show your devotion. I also never said anything about penalizing Protestants for being wrong, or for misleading people. You must have made that part up in your mind. Perhaps you subconsciously think that you must be penalized, that is for you to decide. So did you misunderstand what I wrote about bigotry?
Making a mistake does not make you a liar, it makes you wrong. To lie you need to be aware that what you are saying/writing, without the intention to deceive you cannot lie. When you called the paper "wood" you were not lying as there was no intention to deceive or even the possibility of it - it was an untruth. But he knew it was paper, you knew it and you both knew the other knew it.
Finally, I did have any desire, nor did I accuse anyone. I also did not blame any evil on any devil. Please read my posts more carefully before responding to things I did not write.
