It's easy to see that the comma is on the wrong side of the word today. The first writings had no commas, so it was added afterwards.

Luke 23:43 Verily I say unto thee, to day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

Since we know Jesus didn't go that day, He must have said; Verily I say unto thee today, shalt thou be with me in paradise.
