Hi Crenny, if you are into herbal remedies, you might try a readymixed concoction of various anti- parasite herbs, which oddly enough killed all my urges for booze. It was sort of an accidental discovery which you can read about from the above link. There are various anti- parasite products which should all do the same thing. The ones I've used so far are paranil and humaworm. The idea is that a parasite infestation of the pancreas can lead to hyperinsulinism and then hypoglycemia, which in turn leads to cravings for carbs and/or alcohol. Using the antiparasite herbs allows the pancreas to return to a normal state, which leads to a return to a normal metabolism.
As much as I like the idea of kudzu and the fact that it's been used for a few millenia, including the ancient Chinese, in the end it didn't keep me sober, even after using it for several months.
I've been using humaworm now for a couple of months, without experiencing the slightest interest in alcohol. (Not even the slightest temptation during trigger moments.) The other good thing is that my body has become more tolerant of various foods that I used to avoid because of the high glycemic content.
