What is it with you people and the need to define who is or is not a Christian.  If he calls himself a Christian then he is one.
I consider people who buy into the rapture to be moronic Christians but they are still Christian.  Creationists are scientific illiterate Christians but they are still Christians.   Bibliolaters and Literarists are bad and ignorant Christians but they are still Christian.
