Now I see where you are coming from. You consider a book OTHER than the bible ONLY to be scripture. That is wrong. The BIBLE is the ONLY scripture (written word) of God. If you don't agree (obviously you don't), that is your choice, take it up with God (when you decide to become sincere, if ever, The Lord will show you that you are wrong), but you are only fooling yourself and others who don't know any better. You are not a Christian, you only call yourself one. I don't know the similarities or differences of the Essene writings, or care to "pretend" debate what I don't know (everybody today is looking for a way avoid whatever is written in the bible that they are not comfortable with), but be aware of the warning in Galatians 1:6 that ends with ", "...let him BE ACCURSED". God never mentions anywhere in scripture that He only informed us PARTIALLY in scripture about Himself. The bible is COMPLETE and the unabridged scripture of God. At the cross, Jesus did not say that we should wait for any additions to what He was doing while on earth until He rose to be with The Father, He said "It is finished", John 19:30.
