...That the tensions we tend to carry come directly from ideas we get that we are 'bad', not 'good' enough, and that we 'should' be doing 'better'.
Wrong, wrong, wrong.
In fact, we CAN'T be 'better' than we are, ever, at any point in our lives.
We ALWAYS do what seems to be a good idea to us, at the moment, based on all we have learned up to that moment.
The thief may have heard that 'thou shalt not steal', but he steals a car because all that he has learned so far makes the theft seem like a good idea, to him, at that time.
Besides, we are always children of the universe, energy, seeking fuller expression.
And, that is always beautiful...even if we goof it from time to time.
If we find ourselves in incompatable company we have the options of politely finding common ground, or changing company...also politely.
'Forgiveness' is tricky...it rankles so. Better to see conflict as unnecessary tension, and accept that both parties may be 'wrong', and arrange to be elsewhere. We are all allowed to be 'wrong', without retribution. Each person will learn, in time, or they won't. We can't know WHAT another experiences, or their thoughts.
I was raised with the notion that I was to be 'intelligent', which was just another way of saying that I 'should' always know, in advance, what was the 'proper' thing for me to do/say/think.
What an obligation! A total impossibility!
It is a delight to know, now, that I am, and always was, the best of my species possible in evolution. What a relief, to take my place as a nice human being! It's so much easier on the 'thinking' processes...less tension.
And the answers come, on time, without 'striving'. I am 'good' enough.
I think maybe that 'discipline' is the nastiest word in the language. 'Order' is nice, as a description of tidiness...a method of accomplishing things you really want to...but forget all the connotations of 'discipline'...an overworked word.
