We've always taken our Lugol's in Orange Juice (or another juice if we were out of OJ)...we've been dosing since 2/20.
The whole oxidant/anti-oxidant thing still has me a bit puzzled. I believe Lyn asked Dr. Flechas about that specifically, and he said it wasn't an issue. (that's what I THINK I recall reading in that post, which I don't have time to look for now).
Apple Cider Vinegar is an anti-oxidant, and Dr. Jarvis recommended taking Lugol's with ACV.
I'd think that we ingest all kinds of mixes of oxidants/anti-oxidants in our foods and supplements all the time. I've never concerned myself at all about taking Vitamin C with anything else. I don't know why Iodine would be an exception.
HOWEVER, just because I don't know why it would be an exception, doesn't mean that it is/isn't. That's just what my logic/knowledge puts together.
It has been noted to take the Vitamin C an hour or so before the iodine. Off the top of my head, I don't recall precisely why that is... out of concern for mixing oxidant/anti-oxidant? having the stomach empty for 'staining the stomach lining'? getting the Vitamin C in there BEFORE the Iodine (to correct the absorbtion issues in those few that have absorbtion issues)? ??
My .02 worth :)
