Neonicotinoids must be classified as highly toxic to honey bees. However, studies on toxicity exposure indicate that it is very unlikely that honeybees will die when the product is applied to seeds. Honeybees also rarely forage on seedling corn or soybeans. Also, it is very unlikely that commercial beehives will be negatively affected.

That stuff has been widely used all over the U.S. since 1990! That article above said it's very unlikely it would affect bees if applied to seeds. Well if is the key. It's been sprayed 2-3 times a year. The little critters it's supposed to kill are getting immune to it. The EPA is approving it to be used at different stages of plant growth too.

Sound like Vioxx being approved for children right before they "found out" it was killing people?
