Hersheysmom posted concerning Iodine painting & bright flourescent colored urine. Thought I'd do a new post, as it might be of general interest.

About bright colored urine. Have read that it means you have more B Vitamins. Interesting thing I also read, is that people who have been supplemented with Iodine have overcome B deficiency without taking the B Vitamins! Amazing. (I have read at least a couple of references about this.) It appears that even "painting" will do it. One more very special effect of Iodine!

Why? Who knows. Being an antiseptic, perhaps it gets rid of the bad things in us and allows the good intestinal bacteria (which produce the Bs) to flourish.

However, I feel that very high doses, especially without a break, may work in reverse, perhaps killing off the good stuff too. I base this on an experiment that two M.D.s conducted along with a couple others (probably office staff) who were testing the Iodine protocol at 50 Mg. After about six weeks, they all had GERD, and discontinued the test. (I'm still trying to find that report. At the time, I dismissed it. Sometimes we want to only prove our own current beliefs. Human nature.) Obviously, their digestion had been affected negatively for some reason.

Perhaps just taking a break from Iodine periodically will allow homeostasis.

It is our responsibility to determine what our individual minimum might be. It's all in the dosage and we are all different.
