Poison ivy, poison oak, and other poison plant reactions to the skin:
General Treatment: Wash all parts exposed to the plant with a dish detergent to break down the oil of the plant that causes the skin irritation. Also wash all cloths and bed cloths that may have come in contact with the plant or affected skin, to break down the plant oil that may have been transferred to them that may re-infect the person that had the irritation or new people. A degreaser (like dish detergent) is the only way to get rid of the plant oil that may be active for years.
Homeopathic treatment: Rhus Toxicodendron 4 times a day as for 14 days.
Herbal treatment: Plantain Salve topically 3 times a day and Echinacea and Plantain internally 3 times a day for 14 days.
