Hiya Tasha,
My eyes are also dark underneath. I think that is because the tissue has less fat covering it, and so you can see the blood supply a little, and it is inherited. However, the darkness deepened and was accompanied by such large bags that my first student of the day was alarmed and asked if I was tired or sick. Apparently, those symptoms had disappeared about an hour later, as no other students commented.
This was 2 days after the liver flush, after which I had an extreme reaction to the toxins going through my kidneys.
The day after the flush (not when the stones were coming out, but the next day) I knew as soon as I awoke that something was wrong. My eyes were tender and fiery feeling. The left eye was visibly swollen above and beneath the eye, and the right eye (liver side) was so swollen that I could only open that eye a little. The puffiness extended down to my cheekbone, and in the lower part it looked like it was going to bruise.
The only time I had had such a bad reaction was the year I first developed environmental allergies. My eyelids (both sides) actually swelled SHUT. I was unable to see and housebound for days. As soon as I could open my eyes again, I went to the hospital and asked for advice. They tested for allergies, first on my arm and then on my back, and found allergies to several substances. I'd never had allergies before. This was 3 years after having had my gallbladder removed. Until this year, I've suffered to some extent all year round with allergies (mold, tree and flower pollen etc but not to food as far as I know), but the Liver Flushing is definitely helping.
Now, in this particular case, how bad was it, how much did it improve, and what did I do to change things?
It was the second worst reaction in my life. I've described the extent of the swelling, but I didn't mention the kidney pain, which was severe.
I drank 13 cups of Banaba tea over 36 hours. I could almost feel the swelling draining away. Even from the first cup of Banaba tea, I felt some pain relief, and after 13 cups the pain relief was almost constant. The swelling died down except for in the morning. After 36 hours and 13 cups of tea, they were only swollen for about 3 - 4 hours in the morning. I drank 6 - 8 cups of tea for the next 2 weeks, with the swelling being gradually reduced to about 1 - 2 hours in the morning. Kidney pain vanished. Also, an alarming red lump which appeared under the right eye also disappeared. Andreas Moritz says the red or flesh-colored bumps under the eyes indicate kidney stones. So I would say that the Banaba tea was responsible for 100 % reduction of pain (and possibly the stones which caused it, plus an infection) and for about 80 % of the swelling.
However, I did another flush and puffiness appeared above and below the eyes for about 8 - 10 hours before fading. The Clark kidney cleanse arrived that day, and I started it the next day.
After adding Clark's kidney cleanse (reserving Banaba tea for first thing in the morning and last thing at night, 2 cups each time), I noticed that it seemed to almost complete the relief from puffiness - by a further 15%.
The eyes still get puffy if I overextend myself. That is, if I skip on several or all of my detoxing methods (oil swishing, dry skin brushing, coconut oil massage in the morning, detox footpads at night) plus I don't get enough sleep and eat meat, then they get puffy again. I'm hoping that my midweek detox bath will help. If I do at least one of the detoxing methods and get enough sleep that seems to be enough to prevent it (100% gone).
So, now I can tell directly if I need to detox a bit by whether my eyes are puffy when I wake up, which is a new condition since starting the liver flushes.
I've just started back on Clark's kidney cleanse (took 3 days off for the liver flush) and, going by the results so far, I think the puffiness will be history by the time I'm done the 28-day cleanse. Or so I hope!
Hope all those details help.
