*grin* I'd have to ask Granny Belle if God is unable to raise people who were burned to a crisp throughout history.

Embalming, if memory serves me, started during the civil war, a way to get the bodies home or saved until they could be "properly buried." Turned into a lucretive business after that ... everybody is dying to get into a funeral parlor.
