100 ml of distilled water
yields 6.3 mg Iodine per drop

Making your own Lugols from these sources costs about the same (costs more if you get lower volumes) when compared to Jcrows prices. But this guarantees the unrestricted source & shelf life issues, especially after July 2007 (assumed the crystals are not banned as well).
