Don't panic.

It will be quite useful to the dermatologist if you shave, because he or she will want to know how fast the hair is growing. So if you can say to the dermatologist "This is one week's growth" or "This is one day's growth" it will let the dermatologist see how strong the growth is.

Get a decent men's electric razor to shave with. The men's range from Norelco (US) which is known as Philishave in the rest of the world is particularly good for use by women, but use it only on very short hair (not more than 1/8" (3mm).

Lots of women shave every day. Every doctor has women patients with beards as heavy as men. It's not even unusual.
