All the people who have seen some improvement have all done the same thing, not force the skin to come off. Leaving skin alone and cutting bits off with scissors is the best way to deal with this and use a good emoliant.

My lips still getting slightly better over time by not forcing any skin off.

I was just leaving them alone for as long as i can, which has definatley helped but it's not easy to go about day to day life like that. I started useing Eucerin with a honey lip balm and I just cut off dead skin when an edge comes off. I have a groove line in the middle of my lip now when the dead skin is gone and generaly its healed from the bottom of my bottom lip inwards. ( prob becuase i just never touch it at all, skin comes off by itself virtualy and is thinner next time it comes off ).

All I can say is that it's a long slow process and patients is needed. As I have said before if you had bitten/picked lips for a long time then it might take a long time for the lip to get back to normal.

Cheers
Tom
