this definitely perks my interest. For one, I acquired a container of black salve about a year ago. As I would come to learn "black salve" has over the years developed it's own lore....some of it seemingly involving mystery....and perhaps a bit of cloak&dagger mixed in. Black Salve also seems to be known in the present in somewhat generic terms that suggests that at least some people believe that black salve is black salve no matter who makes it and no matter what ingredients are used. This may be the case but I for one do not know this for a fact. In other words, the various individual products to be found out there and going by the generic description of "black salve" may not necessarily be identical to every single "black salve" product to be found out there.

The stuff I got was made from an old amish recipe... so I've been told. It is in fact a very black, somewhat moist/wet salve. I do not know the recipe, the container does not list the recipe, and as I've found out, black salve is one of those products for which there may be people/minions out there looking to come down on, or "bust" producers of such because it may be considered illegal by our health officials. Personally, if there is something our health officials want to rid, then this too perks my interest because odds are good they are trying to stamp out something useful. Either way, there is probably a need for people to be a bit cautious about black salve.

In any case, the stuff I got works pretty well in very small quantity applied externally. I've only tried it on skin tags thus far, and it takes care of them within a 3-5 days - they turn black, shrivel up, and eventually fall off. Even a teeny tiny bit of this salve (like - a pea's worth), stings/burns the skin upon being applied. This would tend to lead me to avoid OR at least learn some more and be cautious about taking it internally until I am able to learn more. I do not know for a fact that it is harmful taken internally, just pointing out there may be a need for some caution to the broad statement "it's okay to take black salve internally".
