I had to be ON the Iodine for four weeks before I could get OFF the thyroid meds. (I wanted off of the meds because iodine-deficiency is what causes hypothyroidism in the first place, AND the statistics show that there is a greater incidence of breast and ovarian cancer in women who are ON thyroid meds!)

The way the thyroid meds work, is that you have to be taking them for at least three weeks before you'll notice a change in your blood work. So, without knowing how long you've been on the iodine....

If you haven't been on the Iodine that long, please give it some more time.
