Thank you Soul Survivor. I just now talked with one of my neighbors that had shingles many years ago and she mentioned the same thing, that the 72 hours is from the appearance of the rash. If that is indeed the case, we are lucky. The rash appeared one night and treatment for shingles started the next day. Thanks for the help.
