At the end of December 2006 my doctor - dermatologfist has announced to me that I suffered from atopic eczema. I was quite shocked, I never had any skin problems before, ever. She gave me lots of tablets to swallow to ease the itching and some lotions (I refused corticoids). My first thought was to try a water fast. I did some research but I did not find much - only one guy on one forum claimed that he rid himself of eczema by a seven day Water Fast (after having the eczema for 30 years!) - unfortunately teh message was old and there were no details.

I started my waterfast on January 2. 2007. I threw away the medicine and drank only water. And - uh, oh, ehm... was unwilling to throw away my contraception pills away as well, so it was Water Fast with contraception ;-) From day one - no itching, just reddened skin after taking a bath. After seven days my skin looked wonderful! I decided to go for two weeks, I was worried that one week might not be enough.

In the evening of day 12 my skin started itching. Day 13 was pretty bad - itching everywehere, I was depressed. I finished my 14 days and waited. People on a fasting forum in my language kept telling me that it is normal and ok, that it is a sign of a body cleaning and that loads of them who never had any eczema faced skin problems during and after fasting. So I persisted, no medicals, and on day 8 (!!) after the end of the fast, everything - miraculously - stopped itching. Today is February 8 and things are still fine. I would not say thoygh that it helped 100%, I would give it 80%, but it still is amazing. I am planning another Water Fast soon after a reasonable tme for my body to pull things together.

People on my fasting forum say that some of them have cured themselves from atopic eczema through Water Fasting - however - as one girl put it: "I had so many other health problems that I simplyy cannot tell you how many and how long fasts it took for the eczema to heal - I concentrated on my other problems - yet somwhere along the way the eczema has disappeared and now I have skin like a baby". Other girl said she managed to cure her baby daughter by regular one-day fasts (one day a week) and by giving her chlorella.

So in summary - 14 day water fast has helped me enormously - no itching, no pills, no lotions. However it is not completely over - after bathing the skin is somewhat irritated and it still doesnt look as good as it used to. I believe in fasting though and I will continue.

Good luck to you and please - keep us informed! The best wishes and love from me! :)
