the longevity of vegetarians is NOT well documented, in fact the opposite is well documented - the very very few cultures that have been largely vegetarian have been disease prone and short lived.

if you believe that killing and eating an animal is "perverse," then i can see that it would be difficult for you to accept meat eaters. but you should remember the words of Jesus when he said "it is not what goes into your mouth that defiles you, its what comes out of it"

in other words, what you do or dont eat does not reflect on your heart, on your inner person. a meat eater, a vegetarian, a fruitarian, a breatharian, all have equal abilities to live true to their hearts and to walk with the Spirit.

in fact Jesus specifically condemned the religious zealots of his day who insisted that a particular diet could incur the favor of God, he taught that it was the actions and words that really mattered.
