Jayson,
I agree with the Mary McPherson Affidavit. I've read that Gary Glum tried to track down ANYONE who might have the formula, and found a patient of Rene Caisse's for whom Rene had written the formula. Gary Glum paid the woman approx. $120,000 for the formula. He then included it in his book, "Calling of an Angel".
Later, when Mary McPherson made a court documented statement revealing the recipe and instructions to a county commissioner in the town of Bracebridge, Ontario -- it was exactly the same recipe as the one Gary Glum obtained.
Regarding Indian vs Turkey Rhubarb, I have seen that link while searching the answer to which Rhubarb is the right one. Apparently, Rene Caisse decided to change from Indian Rhubarb to Turkey Rhubarb, one reason being that it is less bitter. In the link you posted, the same one I've previously seen, there are opinions that Indian and Turkey Rhubarb are interchangeable medicinally. Other opinions state that Turkey Rhubarb is more potent.
In the court documented recipe Turkey Rhubarb is used.
In the Resperin Formula (Essiac Canada International) Indian Rhubarb is used. This is the company Rene Caisse sold the formula to for $1.00. The Professor from the link states that this is the synergistic local Rhubarb used by Indian Natives. And that perhaps people should trust this formula.
However, if you look at the Essiac(R) ingredient label they use only Sheep Sorrel leaves (which is not correct) and the preparation instructions are lacking, even saying to keep the tea in plastic bottles.
It boils down to a choice of Essiac(R) or an herbal blend from a company that uses Mary McPherson's recipe.
Although the eight herb formula seems to be a potent detoxer and very good for many reasons (I won't go into here) -- I am personally changing to the Mary McPherson four herb formula and hoping to see faster results.
