The National Museum of Scotland, situated in Edinburgh, is home to a rather curious artefact. The piece in question depicts Seti I performing ritual - an offering to the Goddess Hathor. In the palm of each hand, Seti I offers to Hathor a small, pyramidal gift, almost identical in appearance to the Pyramid of Djozer: the "step" pyramid.

There is, once again, no apparent explanation as to why said Pharaoh would offer such peculiar things to the Gods. One must assume, however, that this undetermined offering is fit for the Neter, the Gods themselves.

I have spent many hours this evening attempting to find an online representation of the piece stored at the National Museum, but alas to no avail. The museum itself provides no explanation as to where the piece was found.

I hope to return soon, with digital camera in hand...
