that is debatable... read through the Iodine discussion forum and the following links... I would think that the RDA is extremely underestimated by at least 10 times and many would have us believe 100 times. The big issue though is how other halides, chlorine, fluorine, bromine which are dominant in our food, water, environment displace the essential nutrient Iodine in our diets.
