atomidine is Iodine trichloride. i avoid halogens in positive oxidation states. personal choice.

if someone likes ICl3 because Iodine is in +3 valence state, why stop there ? why not go to +5 and just eat iodate or per-iodate which is +7 ? I used that as a rocket fuel oxidizer once. not as good as chlorate or bromate, but sure powerful oxidizer. i try to avoid eating rocket fuel components, as much as possible. getting harder to do, with all the perchlorate in the milk these days.
