At 5 years old who can say what this is? Your brain wasn't fully formed to process this. However in my experience what you describe is a state of awareness of Being. Your Being! You are consciousness. In my many years I have had several out of body experiences in what others call the astral plane but this is not what you describe. I too have had similar experiences as this you describe and it really is Being in Space! I have even seen our earth from space and traveled what seemed eons through space, dark, empty space. Completely aware that I was not the space but Mind in space is the best way I can describe it. I am alert,awake,but with deep contemplation when this state of awareness arises. It is fun once you let go of your fear,then you can experience yourself as Being instead of Body. From one Virgo to another you may find it helpful with some mediation techniques and searching the spiritual Consciousness Forum s here etc.

As protective measures children will often disassociate from their bodies when they are sexually assaulted. This is a self defense mechanism and is not what I am describing. But even so it may be their true Being protecting the fragile ego/body from further memory of torment until they can process it for what it is. As we know this can be years later before one comes to such awareness and hopefully healing. Enjoy your journey.
