I'll try to keep the background brief. Basically, I had seasonal allergies since childhood. They slowly worsened and in my 20's I developed chronic sinusitis, which means I took way too many Antibiotics . Then my allergies got even worse, and I got new food allergies and other Candida symptoms. I went on a full scale antifungal/probiotic program and am fairly sure I have eliminated the candida. But I still felt bad. Started Liver Flushing and bowel cleansing, which helped moderately. Then I learned about leaky gut, and took enzymes, glutamine, and colostrum, and felt much better, but I still had my allergies, and was congested daily. I learned about magnesium deficiency and its link to allergies. I started taking supplements and Epsom Salt baths.

Your post caused me to google low stomach acid. As it turns out, low stomach acid contributes to food allergies because food isn't properly digested. It also causes mineral deficiency--including magnesium! AND magnesium supplements can further lower stomach acid. My antihistamines contribute to low stomach acid too!

One website suggested simply drinking a little lemon juice before meals, and low and behold I drank it on an empty stomach and could feel my sinuses clear in less than a half hour. I have continued for the past week to drink a little lemon juice before each meal, and I feel better than I have in years! Of course, I will still treat my leaky gut,and take my Candida maintance supplements and plan to get the HCL supplements, but for now I am estatic!

Thanks again.

I truly believe that reducing Candida isn't horribly difficult. It is reversing the damage it did while you had it that is the challenge.
