You have to keep well hydrated for your body to function properly, but you should be keeping your electrolytes intact so that your heart can get the electrical signals to pump well. Don't drink diet soda or eat anything with artificial sweeteners. Aspartame is what makes diet soda have less calories, but is also dangerous because it is known to cause SUDDEN CARDIAC ARREST from heart arrythmia.
