Calcium hydroxide is referred to as food grade and used in many products, women have used it safely for decades as pickling lime they sold off the shelf at hardware and general stores and now Walmart and has a history without incident and Mexicans have used it for centuries in there corn preparation

Just an FYI, I refuse to try and reason with you; but calcium hydroxide is being phased out as the chemical agent in pickling lime simply because it does have too many potential hazards. Of course, it will still be around as an industrial agent, but as soon current as supplies run out, pickling lime will no be calcium hydroxide. Many companies, like Ball, voluntarily pulled the product and have already replaced it. Mrs. Wages still sells the calcium hydroxide form of pickling lime, but it is doubtful that product will be around much longer.

You may feel better because you are using the drink, after all the Iodine in the kelp and the iron in the blackstrap will help regulate your metabolism and support erythrocyte production that really will oxygenate your blood; but the simple truth is you are getting little or nothing from the lime water except an antacid effect. However, that aspect does not matter at all to me, what worries me are those poor people who overuse or misuse this supposed miracle product because they either lack the knowledge of Science or blindly follow advice without question, or those poor, pitiful souls who are led to believe that potion will cure everything from a pimple on the butt to stage four cancer.
