If glycerin prohibits reenamilization of the teeth and promotes plaque buildup, where would the benefit lie?

Purpose of glycerin is it is a binder. Most commercial sites boast the glycerin they use is of vegetable origin, therefore presumed safe and beneficial. Glycerin is what makes the paste paste.
